Client Spotlight: Cara Thompson
At Sense of Agency, we believe that design has the power to hold space for transformation. This is exactly what we set out to do in our collaboration with Cara Thompson, a Reiki healer and guide whose practice, Capacity for Contrast, invites people to reconnect with themselves on a deeper level.
In today’s wellness space, mindset work is often celebrated as the ultimate key to change. But Cara’s story reveals a different truth: mindset alone wasn’t enough. She found that affirmations, journaling, and therapy often created more conflict within herself because her body was still operating in survival mode.
Our visuals translated this realization into story form, showing how traditional healing methods can only take us so far before something deeper is needed.
Through Capacity for Contrast, Cara teaches that wisdom doesn’t come from analysis alone, but from contrast, the lived experience of discomfort, vulnerability, and eventual reconnection. Contrast becomes a teacher, showing what we couldn’t feel before, revealing the parts of ourselves that were hidden under detachment or avoidance.
The carousels we designed brought this philosophy to life visually, pairing bold statements with atmospheric, emotional imagery. Each slide was crafted to mirror the shifts Cara guides her clients through: from fog to clarity, from avoidance to acceptance, from survival to true presence.
For us, partnering with Cara meant more than designing content. It was about shaping a visual language that could hold the depth of her message. We created space through typography, layout, and imagery for audiences to pause, reflect, and feel.
Her work reminds us that creativity is not only about what we make, but the emotional resonance it can hold. We’re proud to stand alongside Cara as she continues to guide others toward wholeness, reconnection, and deeper self acceptance.
